SSWD seeks out opportunities to maximize and enhance the reliability of our water supplies.  We make every attempt to identify the potential benefits or impacts of cost saving collaboration opportunities.

Currently, SSWD, along with six other water agencies in the Sacramento region, have participated in the Sacramento Regional Water Utility Collaboration Study that is intended to determine a range of alternative programs, which include potential integration of selected projects, programs and services, up to and including integration or consolidation of two or more of the agencies into a single organization.

A consultant was hired to gather information to provide an overview of organizational and opportunity specific data and benchmarks relative to each participating agency, and nationally where available. The consultant gathered information, including virtual interviews with senior representatives of each participating agency about the opportunities and how they hope to benefit from each particular opportunity. Those findings are below in the three separate Activity Reports.
